Navigating my way through the complexities of the family legal system

Jacqui assisted me originally as a full fee paying client and later as a self represented litigant.  Her advice gave me the ability to understand my matter, draft my own affidavits and represent myself at a fraction of the cost of full fees without sacrificing my desired outcome.  I’m not a lawyer, but I had confidence in my ability to self-represent because Jacqui showed me it was possible and I knew she was there as a backup if I needed it.

Supporting me through the minefield of the Family Law Court

I met Jacqui in 2015.  I don’t know what I would have done without her as she became my voice during a complex and drawn out case.  My matter involved mental health, domestic violence, coercive control, stalking and intimidation.  At times I was an emotional wreck, but one of the first things you will learn about Jacqui is that she is fearless in a court room.  Jacqui’s expert understanding of domestic violence and family law kept me and my family safe.

Providing education as well as representation

Jacqui is very good on focusing on the job at hand and ensuring that you don’t get lost in the myriad of legal complexities and are able see the bigger picture and focus on your desired outcome.    Jacqui is able to take the emotion out of the situation whilst being very cognisant of what matters to you and your family, explaining the reason behind her recommendations and at times this is the type of information that is of real value.  Jacqui provided an  education as well as representation, to the point I am well versed in how to handle certain situations, where I used to be so unsure of the system.  I recall her saying, “this is your story, you know what happened and when, I’m just here to guide you through it”.  Anyone  who is aware of the family law system will understand that the drain  can be both emotionally and financially and I am glad that Jacqui was by my side.

Balance the advantage and disadvantage

I am a new immigrant and I didn’t know anything about Australian family law. With coaching and assistance from Jacqui, I am able to represent myself in the Court, then I use Jacqui to prepare legal docs as her legal documentation skill is such amazing.

A good lawyer is not only to meet client’s expectation, they will also balance the advantage and disadvantage for the client. Jacqui also point out if she felt it’s not worth for me to fight something in the court, that’s very important, sometime the cost (time and money) that we spend might be not worthy. Overall, I really appreciate all the support from Jacqui in the past 5 years and I really recommend Jacqui’s legal support/assistance service.
